Obituary for Dixie Dean Dreyzehner (1903-1987)

83 years, 7 months and 29 days ago, on July 16, 1903 at Moscow Mills, Mo., Dixie Dean HILL was born. She was one of the seven children of Charles and Julia COTTLE HILL.

She passed from this life to her eternal home Sunday, March 15, 1987 at Raytown, Mo.

On December 24, 1922 she was united in a happy marriage to Fred LeRoy DREYZEHNER. Three daughters were born to this union. On November 5, 1986, Mr. DREYZEHNER passed away. Others who preceded her in death were her brother, Carthel HILL and three sisters, Mary DYER, Annie DYER and Venie CAPPEL.

Surviving are her daughters, Arline DREYZEHNER of Troy, Peggy and her husband LaRue FRANK of Las Vegas, Nv. and Sandra and her husband, Robin FRANK of Raytown, Mo.; three grandchildren, Wendy and her husband, Ted OSBURN of Blue Springs, Mo., Daniel and Dusty FRANK of Raytown; her brother, Woodrow HILL and his wife, Abby of Moscow Mills and her sister, Mrs. Lucy BRADSHAW of St. Charles, Mo.; her husband’s brother, Walter DREYZEHNER and his wife, Hulda of Tulsa, Oklahoma and his sisters, Helen BARNETT of Fresno, California, Marie WILLIAMS and Elsie HALL, both of St. Louis, Mo., several nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and innumerable friends.

Mrs. DREYZEHNER was a member of the Moscow Mills Christian Church. After she and her husband moved to Troy, they attended the First Christian Church of Troy.

Mrs. DREYZEHNER was very active in Eastern Star work. She served as Worthy Matron of the Troy Chapter No. 405 Order of Eastern Star in both 1944 and 1949. In 1953 she was selected and served as District Deputy Grand Matron of the 29th District.

Her husband operated the Farmers’ Elevator and Supply of Moscow Mills, and the Lincoln Plant Food Co. She served as bookkeeper and secretary for the businesses.

Mrs. DREYZEHNER was a lady in the true since of the word. She was gracious, patient and kind to all. She kept abreast of events of the day and enjoyed living. During her illness, her loving family made life very happy for her.

She lived a good and meaningful life. She contributed much to this world in her lifetime and she will not be forgotten. Her life was a blessing to many, many people. All whose lives she touched feel a deep loss.

The Rev. Lester Zacher conducted funeral services for Mrs. DREYZEHNER at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, March 19, 1987 from the Troy Chapel, Kemper-Marsh Funeral Home. Interment was in the Troy City Cemetery. Casket bearers were Miller BRAUNGARDT, C.O. ANDERSON, J.E. BOCKHORST, Bobby THORNHILL, LeRoy BRAUNGARDT, and Dulin HARRELL.
