Wesley Louis (Pete) DEPPING was born November 14, 1910 at Moscow Mills, Missouri, the son of William August and Emma STEINMESCH DEPPING. He passed away suddenly at his home in Moscow Mills from an apparent heart attack, June 15, 1976.

On August 25, 1934 he was married to Edra Belle ANDERSON who passed away July 28, 1973. He is survived by their daughter, Laura, the wife of David Neal TURNBULL, and their two children, Amy Elizabeth and Gregory David. Also by his brother, Henry, of Washington, D.C., his sister Irene, the wife of A.C. LANGFORD of Bowling Green, Missouri, and his sister Mildred of St. Louis. His sister Hazel DEPPING SCHMIDT passed away March 24, 1971.

Wesley attended the Moscow Mills public school, Buchanan High School and Central Wesleyan Academy. He was confirmed at age fourteen at the Evangelical Church, now know as the United Church of Christ, in Moscow Mills. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a veteran of World War II.

Wesley was a partner with his father, in Depping’s store, and later with his sister, Irene, until the store was sold in 1960. His entire life was spent in Moscow Mills except for the time spent in the armed services.

Other than his immediate family he leaves to mourn his passing his nieces, Diana and her husband, John HOXIE of LaPlata, Maryland, Janet and her husband, Dr. Michael RESNIK of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and Kay ROTH and her husband, Francis ROTH of Rochester, New York. Also his mother-in-law, Laura ANDERSON and sister-in-law, Norma THURMAN of San Diego, California. Other survivors are cousins Lorena STEVENS of High Hill, Missouri, Everett MISCHE of Jonesburg, Missouri, Evelyn TWIEHAUS of Wright City, Missouri, Dr. Alberta ROEPER of O’Fallon, Missouri, Laura INGARSIA of New Orleans, Louisiana, Warren DEPPING of New York City and a very dear friend, Jane KNEBEL of Troy, Mo., also his faithful and devoted helper Mary DOMAZLICKY.

The pallbearers were C.O. ANDERSON, Irvin Dale BUENEMAN, Walter BUENEMAN, Joe MURRAY, Vernett SHAFFER, Jr. and Bobby THORNHILL.

Arrangements were through the McCoy-Paul Funeral Home with services conducted by his pastor, the Rev. Dwight Borden, at the Friedens United Church of Christ, at Moscow Mills, Missouri on Thursday June 17, 1976. Organist was Mrs. Wencker Meyer and soloist Barbara Lampley.

Interment was at Anderson Hill Cemetery.
