Sudden Death of Mrs. Ed Damron.

Mrs. Ed Damron formerly of this vicinity, died suddenly Saturday morning about 1:30 o’clock, at her late home in Oakwood, near Hannibal.  Her husband was awakened by a peculiar sound and asked her if she was sick.  She did not answer and he hastened to turn on the light, to find her in a dying condition.  Death was pronounced by the physician called due to heart failure.  The body was conveyed Saturday to the home of her son, Edwin, near Aberdeen, and the funeral was held Monday from the Baptist church in Eolia, Rev. W. N. Maupin officiating.  Interment was made in Eolia cemetery.

Mrs. Damron’s maiden name was Briscoe.  She was born near Foley and was aged 57 years, 9 months and 3 days.  Practically her entire life had been lived in this vicinity.  She had been in ill health for several years and about twelve months ago moved with her husband to Hannibal.  She had been better for two or three months and on Friday before her death she remarked that she felt better than usual.

Beside her husband she is survived by four children, Ernest, of Dodge City, Kas. Reneau, of Hannibal, Edwin of Aberdeen, and Carrie, now Mrs. Lon McKinsey, of Hannibal.  There are also four grandchildren and a brother, Brade Briscoe, of Foley.

The high esteem in which Mrs. Damron was held was evidences by the large concourse of neighbors and friends present at her funeral and the many expressions of sympathy for the family.  The floral offerings, too, bore silent testimony to her worthiness.
