Services Monday for E.M. Damron of Louisiana

Louisiana, MO.-Funeral services for Edward Meriwether Damron, 71, lifetime resident of Annada, Elsberry and White Swan, southeast of Eolia, will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Mill Creek Baptist church. The Rev. Marvin Braungardt will officiate. The body will lie in state after 2 P.M. Sunday until noon Monday when it will be taken to the church.

Mr. Damron was born January 22, 1895 in Lincoln County, the son of Noah and Addie Meriwether Damron.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Vesta Davis Damron, two daughters, Mrs. Cottle Ogden of Vandalia and Mrs. S. J. Eddy of Copan, Okla; four sons, Davis Damron of Mexico, Norman Richard Damron of Thermopolis, Wyo., Melvin Damron of Bellevue, Neb., and Garrett Damron of Dewy, Okla., seventeen grandchildren and one great granddaughter.


Funeral Services Held for Meriwether Damron

Funeral rites for Edward Meriwether Damron, 71, who died while at work at his country home near Eolia Friday, were held at 2:00 P.M. Monday in the Mill Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Marvin Braungardt, pastor of the Elsberry Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in the Mill Creek Cemetery.

Mr. Damron resided all his life in the Elsberry and Whiteside neighborhoods. He was born January 22, 1895 in Lincoln County to Noah and Addie (Meriwether) Damron. Besides his widow, Mrs. Vesta Davis Damron, he leaves two daughters, Mrs. Cottle Ogden of Vandalia and Mrs. S. J. Eddy of Coplan, Okla.; four sons, Davis Damron of Mexico, Norman R. Damron of Thermopolis, Wyo., Melvin Damron of Bellvue, Neb, and Garrett Damron of Dewey, Okla. 17 grandchildren and a great -granddaughter.

Pallbearers were Russell Eddy, Darrell Damron, Sammy Eddy, Edward Damron, Phillip Ogden, and Walter Cox. During the service, Mrs. Gilmore Howing sang, "Above the Bright Blue" and "In the Garden", accompanied by Mrs. J. Q. Thurman.
