Obituary for Sarah Amanda (Curtis) Allen (1827-1903)

Mrs. Sarah Amanda ALLEN, nee CURTIS, died at her home in Troy, Mo., March 19, 1903. She was born in Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania county, Va, Jan. 5, 1827. Sister Allen united with Stephensburg Baptist church as was bapitzed by Rev. Thornton STRINGFELLOW, in Oct, 1847. In Culpepper county, Va., Nov 26, 1957, she was united in marriage to Jacob O ALLEN. To them four children were born, one boy and three girls, of whom two daughters, Mr. T.M. BITTICK and Mrs Wiley HUSTON survive her. Thirteen years ago Sister Allen united with the Troy Baptist Church. For fifty six years she was a consistent member of the Baptist church. She loved her church and was regular attendant until the close of her live. Her devotion and faithfulness is not only worth of imitation, but a
blessed comfort to her loved one. "They sorrow not as those have no hope."   Her funeral service was conducted by her late pastor, in he church of which she was a member.
