MRS. W. D. CLARK BURIED AT TROY

After a lingering illness of seven months duration during which time she was bedfast, Mrs. W. D. CLARK died at her home northwest of Warrenton, about 9 p.m., July 4, 1940. She had attained the age of 72 years, 4 months and 24 days.

Funeral services were held July 6,in the Methodist Church at Troy with the pastor Rev. B. B. Harvey of Troy and Rev. G. A. Roedder of Warrenton conducting the services. Interment was made in the Clark Family Cemetery south of Troy. Kemper Undertakers were in charge of the funeral.

Mrs. Elizabeth Leora MARTIN CLARK, daughter of Daniel Boone and Nancy Jane MARTIN was born near Troy on February10, 1868, and grew to young womanhood in that community. She was one of a family of nine children.

On November 30, 1898, she was united in marriage to William Deaver CLARK and they established their home near Troy. Here they lived until 1911, when they moved to their present home near Warrenton.

Mrs. CLARK was one of the much loved women of her community, and in her passing has gone from her home a devoted wife and from our midst a truly good woman. She possessed a sweet, kind disposition and was loved by all who knew her.

The departed is survived by her husband; two sisters, Mrs. Anna RUBY of St. Louis and Mrs. Lottie OWENS of Edmond, Canada; two brothers, Frank MARTIN of St. Louis and Lindon B. MARTIN, whom she loved and idolized as a son and who made his home with her. Nieces, nephews, and other relatives and a multitude of sorrowing friends.--Contributed.
