Obituary for Lulu C. (Duncan) Casner (1872-1918)
Uncited clippings from the "Mattie Davis Martin Collection" of Doris Martin Jablonski, 1998.

Lulu CASNER, youngest daughter of James L. And Elizabeth DUNCAN, was born April 22, 1872 and departed this life April 24, 1918, making her age 46 years and 2 days. She was converted and untied with the Mt. Gilead Baptist church at the age of 15 and was at the time of her death a faithful consistent member of the same congregation. She was married to E. . CASNER April 2, 1894. To this union were born nine children, two preceding their mother to the better land. Those left with the father to mourn their loss are: Mrs. Rose RICHARDSON, Robert, Homer, Helen, Dwight, William and Floy May. Besides these there are three sisters, Mrs. J. S. CHADWICK, Montgomery City; Mrs. Wm. NEWELL, Marshall, Mo. And Mrs. Mollie RUNYAN of Riverdae, Calif.  Mrs. CASNER submitted to an operation for appendicitis in St. Louis March 26, and for several days she seemed to get along very well but later grew worse and rapidly declined until the end came.

Funeral service was conducted at the Baptist church in Wright City at 11 o’clock Saturday April 27 and interment was in the cemetery at that place. Mrs. CASNER was a good woman and had many friends who sincerely sympathize with Mr. CASNER and his family in their said bereavement. May He in whom she trusted, give counsel and support at this time. -- O. A. GORDON
