Obituary for Louise Margaret Gerdeman Bueneman  (1885-1978)

            Louise Margaret BUENEMAN was born March 1, 1885 near Moscow Mills, Mo., the daughter of Herman and Annie MILLER GERDEMAN.  She passed away in St. John’s Mercy Hospital, Creve Coeur, Mo., early Monday morning, June 5, 1978.  She had attained the age of 93 years, three months and four days.

            Mrs. BUENEMAN was baptized and confirmed in the Friedens Evangelical and Reformed Church (now Friedens United Church of Christ), Moscow Mills, Mo.

            On October 25, 1905, she was united in marriage to Thomas John BUENEMAN.   Their 66 years of marriage came to a close with his passing November 22, 1971.  Mr. and Mrs. BUENEMAN were the parents of eight children.

            Mrs. BUENEMAN was the last of her brothers and sisters to survive.  Those who preceded her in death other than her husband were the following brothers and sisters: Minnie BRUNING, Edward, Theodore, Florence, Louis, Albert, Clara, Herman and Walter GERDEMAN, Ida SCHEREMMER and Julia SMITH; one daughter-in-law, Millicent BUENEMAN, and two sons-in-law, Ray DOWELL and Harry SCHOENECK.

            She is survived by five sons and three daughters, who are Elihu and his wife, Mary of Wright City, Ora and his wife, Helen, Julius and his wife, Garnetta all of Troy, Walter and his wife, Eva of Moscow Mills, Marvin of Troy, Alva DOWELL of Bowling Green, Miss Darline BUENEMAN of St. Louis, and Mabel SCHOENECK of Jackson, Miss.; 20 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; her husband’s brother, Nat BUENEMAN of Troy; her husband’s brother, Bob BUENEMAN’s wife, Mrs. Lizzie BUENEMAN of Troy; a number of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and innumerable friends.

            Funeral services for Mrs. BUENEMAN were conducted by her pastor, the Rev. William Graves from the Friedens United Church of Christ, Moscow Mills, Mo., Thursday morning, June 8, 1978.  Her granddaughter, Mrs. Janice CRAGEN, was the organist and soloist was Mrs. Barbara Lampley.

            Burial was in the Troy City Cemetery.  Active and honorary casket bearers were her grandsons: Joe SCHOENECK, John SCHOENECK, Irvin Dale BUENEMAN, E.W. BUENEMAN Jr., James BUENEMAN, Thomas BUENEMAN, Richard DOWELL, Kenneth BUENEMAN, Donald BUENEMAN and Jeff SCHOENECK.

            Arrangements were through the Kemper Marsh Funeral Home of Troy.
