Samuel BRISCOE, an old and respected citizen of this county, died at his home at Briscoe last Friday night at 9 o'clock, of general debility. He was born in Kentucky, but came to Lincoln County in his youth and located on the land where the town of Briscoe (named in his honor) now stands. He leaves a wife and six children - three sons and three daughters. His sons are Hayden, Permenus and Thomas BRISCOE, and the daughters, Miss Ruth BRISCOE, Mrs. Wm. ULERY and Mrs. J. C. RANEY. He had for a great many years been a member of the Primative Baptist Church. His funeral occurred Sunday and his remains were interred in the Briscoe Cemetery.
