From the clippings of Ramona Meyer

William Herman Frederick BERGESCH was born November 16, 1898, in Lincoln County, Missouri, the son of Frederick J. BERGESCH and his wife, Anna A. ROSTOFF BERGESCH. He was baptized on December 26, 1898, by Pastor Carl Fauth, and confirmed in the Evangelical Faith at Friedens Church, Moscow Mills, on January 31, 1915, by Pastor R. C. Lueke.

On January 16, 1919, he was married to the late Verlie Marie BECK BERGESCH. To this union two sons were born: Harold William and Fred Marion. For 25 years, Mr. and Mrs. BERGESCH made their home in St. Louis County. Shortly after the end of World War II, they returned to Lincoln County, to make their home on their farm near Moscow Mills. For over 15 years, together with their two sons, Mr. and Mrs. BERGESCH lived on their farm home near Big Creek. Theirs was a close family, and the recent death of his wife was a loss that was difficult for Mr. BERGESCH to accept. His death occurred on Monday, May 21, 1962. Mr. BERGESCH had attained the age of 63 years, 6 months, and five days.

He leaves to mourn: two sons, Harold William and Fred Marion; a sister, Mrs. Ed KARRENBROCK, of St. Louis; a brother, Carl Fred BERGESCH, of St. Louis; and many other relatives and friends.

Pastor R. S. Brueseke conducted the funeral service held at Friedens United Church of Christ, Moscow Mills, on Wednesday, May 23, at 2:00 p.m. with burial following at the Anderson Hill Cemetery. The Kemper-Marsh Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
