Obituary for Verlie Marie Beck Bergesch (1899-1962)
Troy Free Press, Troy, Lincoln County, MO.
From the clippings of Ramona Meyer

Verlie Marie BECK BERGESCH was born August 25, 1899, in Lincoln County Missouri, the daughter of Mike BECK and his wife, Ellen BUENEMAN BECK. She was baptized in infancy, and confirmed in the Evangelical faith at Friedens Church, Moscow Mills, as a young person.

On January 16, 1919, she was married to William BERGESCH, of Moscow Mills. To this union, two sons were born: Harold William and Fred Marion. For twenty-five years, Mr and Mrs BERGESCH made their home in St. Louis County. Shortly after the end of the Second World War, they returned to Lincoln County, to reside on their farm near Moscow Mills. For over fifteen years, together with their two sons, Mr and Mrs. BERGESCH lived at their farm home near Big Creek.

In recent years, Mrs. BERGESCH had been in poor health. Yet, it was her desire to remain with her family on the farm as long as possible. She was grateful that this wish could be fulfilled until it became necessary for her to be taken to the Lincoln County Memorial Hospital in Troy. There she died on April 6, 1962, having attained the age of 62 years, 7 months, and 11 days. A week before her death she received Holy Communion with her husband.

She leaves to mourn: her husband; her two sons; her mother, Mrs. Ellen BECK of Moscow Mills; two sisters, Mrs. Henry MEYER, of Moscow Mills, and Mrs. Birl DEARING, of Detroit, Michigan; and many other relatives and friends.

The Order of the Burial of the Dead was read by Pastor R. S. Brueseke at Friedens United Church of Christ, Moscow Mills, on Sunday afternoon, April 8, with burial following at the Anderson Hill Evangelical Cemetery. With the Kemper-Marsh Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
