Was Native of Kentucky

Robert BENNETT, one of the oldest men in the county, died October 6, 1921 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. SECHREST.

He was born August 16, 1832 near Lexington, Kentucky, when still in the teens, he with his parents, came to Lincoln county, Missouri to live. In 1852, he was united in marriage to Miss Nancy Katherine ROSE. To this union eleven children were born: Richard, Frank, Phoebe, Mary, Robert, Thomas, Charles, David, Paul and John, also one who died in infancy. Of this family of children only four survive. Richard T., Troy, Missouri, Mrs. L. SECHREST of this county, Charles C. of Rockport, Wash. and Paul of Mt. Vernon, Wash. In 1876 Mr. Bennett's wife passed away and in 1878 he was united in marriage to Miss Effie HARVEY. To this union one son was born, Wade, deceased. In 1913, after the death of his wife, he went to make his home with his son, Richard of Troy where he lived until June 14, 1918 when he came to make his home with his daughter, Mrs. L. SECHREST of this county. The funeral was preached at Marvin Chapel Saturday by Rev. Thomas L. Powell of Odessa.
