Obituary for Henry Edward Behrens (1911-1987)

Henry Edward BEHRENS was born in Troy, Mo., January 11, 1911, the son of Henry and Helena Margaret MUENSTERMAN BEHRENS. He passed away in the Lincoln County Memorial Hospital, Troy, Tuesday, September 1, 1987, following a brief illness. He was 76 years, 7 months and 20 days of age.

He was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters: Fred BEHRENS, Dorothea MYERS, Mary FRINK, Helen TWELLMAN, Annie MUESTERMAN, Alfred BEHRENS, Rose McCOY, and two sisters and a brother who died in childhood, John, Alma and Bertha.

He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Lillian MONTGOMERY of St. Louis, a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, one sister-in-law, Mrs. June BEHRENS of St. Charles, other relatives and many, many friends.

Funeral services for Mr. BEHRENS were held at one o’clock Friday, September 4, from the Troy Chapel, Kemper-Marsh Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Hicks, pastor of the Troy UCC Church was the minister and Mrs. Arthur Schemmer was the organist.

Interment was in the Troy Zion E&R Cemetery. Casket bearers were Ed VAUGHN, Shelby THORNHILL, Jim ROBERTS, Willie RECKAMP, Jim PARTON and Henry AUSTIN. Honorary casket bearers were James Paul NORTON, Andy FINLEY, Howard BRIGGS, Charlie HORST and "Shorty" WILMES.

Memorials are being made to the Zion UCC Building Fund and Organ Fund.
