Obituary for Orval William Michael Beck (1916-1948)

Troy Free Press, Troy, Lincoln County, MO.

From the clippings of Lorraine Meyer Gerdiman

Orval William Michael BECK, son of Mike and Ellen Beck, of Moscow Mills, Missouri, was born January 28, 1916, and entered into rest on March 11, 1948, at the age of 32 years, 1 month and 12 days.

He was baptized at the Evangelical church in Moscow Mills, where he was born and where he spent the greater part of his life. His father preceded him in death on January 15, 1942.

On October 5, 1940, he was united in marriage with Norma KININGER, of Jackson, Mo.

He leaves to mourn his departure: his beloved wife; his dear mother, Mrs. Ellen BECK; three sisters, Verlie (Mrs. Wm. BERGESCH), Lora (Mrs. Henry MEYER), of Moscow Mills, and Olive (Mrs. Birdl DEARING), of Detroit, Mich; his father-in-law; mother-in-law; four brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; three nephews; four nieces; aunts; uncles; cousins; and a host of friends and neighbors who will sadly miss him.

He has been employed at Wagner Electric Corporation in St. Louis for the past 12 years, where he was a faithful employee and where he made many friends.

Our hearts were saddened by the shock of his sudden departure. He will be remembered by his many relatives and friends for his willingness always to lend a helping hand to any one in need, his cheerful attitude and thoughtfulness. May God reward him and bring comfort to his loved ones at this time of separation.

Funeral services were held at the Evangelical church in Troy on March 14, 1948, conducted by Rev. Karl Albers and his body was laid to rest at the Evangelical cemetery in Troy. The pallbearers were friends with whom he worked at Wagner Electric Corp.
