Walter BAIN, 66, Dies Funeral Rites Saturday

Walter D. BAIN of Troy passed away unexpectedly at his home early Thursday morning. He was 66 years of age. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday Oct. 1, from the Old Alexandria Methodist Church, with the pastor, Rev. Lester Zacher in charge. The Rev. Sam Lorton will assist. Interment will be in the Old Alexandria Cemetery.

Mr. BAIN was born at Davis, Dec. 3, 1910, the son of Henry and Annie SENTMEN BAIN. April 11, 1942, he was united in marriage to Miss Camille CREECH. They became the parents of two children.

Preceeding Mr. BAIN in death were one sister, Mrs. Ollie BARNES, and two brothers, Raymond BAIN and Wm BAIN.

He is survived by his wife of their residence, one daughter, Mrs. John (Barbara) ACHORS, and one son, Walter Calvin BAIN; six grandchildren; one sister Mrs. Sim WHITTEN and one brother, Ted BAIN both of Eaglewood, Co., a number of nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and many friends.

Mr. BAIN was employed by the Lincoln County Highway Deptment as a truck driver. He was a veteran of WW I , and was discharged with a distinguished service record. He served in the European and African Middle Eastern Theaters. He was awarded four bronze stars as well as the Purple Heart Medal and other medals.

note the obit says WW I. Stone says WWII. I would say the obit. is wrong. He would be a little young for WW II also I believe the John ACHORS is spelled AKERS j.g. ]
