Daniel ARGENT was born Sept. 9, 1832, and died Dec. 18,1901, at his home near Argentville, Mo., aged 69 years, 3 months and 9 days. His funeral services were at New Salem Baptist Church, Dec. 21. After a short address by his pastor, as he was opposed to lengthy funeral discourses, he was laid to rest New Salem Baptist Cemetery. He leaves to mourn his loss 6 brothers and a lonely broken - hearted wife. For nearly 42 years, he and his beloved wife have been plodding life's weary way together. He crossed the plains to Cal. in 1854, where he remained for 5 years. He joined the Masonic fraternity in 1869. He became a member of the Baptist church 1876.
