C. CLIFFORD ADAMS

Funeral services for C. Clifford ADAMS, 92, of East Moline, Il., were held at 11 a.m. Wedsneday, July 9, 2003, at the First Baptist Church in East Moline. Burial followed in the Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. The East Moline American Legion Post No. 227 and the VFW Post No. 2065 conducted military honors. Visitation was held Tuesday, July 8 at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., in East Moline.

Mr. Adams died Saturday, July 5, 2003, at the Illini Hospital Silvis.

He was born Feb. 20, 1911, in St. Louis, the son of Albert and Kate (Crume) WHEELER ADAMS. He married Virginia BIRKHEAD on August 23, 1947, in East Moline.

Mr. ADAMS served in the United States Army Air Force Aircraft Warning Signal Company in the South Pacific for 31 months. He retired from the shipping department of John Deere Harvester in 1973. He was a member of the East Moline American Legion, the UAW Local 865 retirees and had served as a deacon and sang in the choir at the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Virginia; sons Robert, East Moline and Kent of Champaign, Il.; 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a sister, Lois GRAVES, East Moline. He was preceeded in death by 2 sisters and 2 brothers.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of East Moline, Il.
