W. L. Douglas, Jr. & Merle M. Jackson.  This cemetery is located south of New Hope,

MO in Lincoln County on Hwy. V.  To reach cemetery from New Hope, take Hwy W to 

junction of V & W.  Turn right on V, go to first farm on right.  Cemetery is 

reached through a barn lot to a ridge about ¼ mile off Hwy V, on the old Capt. 

John Alloway farm.  Andrew Downing was a son of Ezekiel Downing, Sr., and brother 

of Ezekiel, Jr., of Lincoln County.  Ezekiel Sr. was from Kentucky.

Cemetery was in bad shape when census was taken Aug. 7, 1978.  Many sinkholes, 

growth very heavy.  Near this cemetery is the old Alloway Cemetery and the old 

Hickory Ridge School.
