Original Purchase Property Description:  NW 1/4 of the NE 1/4 - the NE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 & the W 1/2 of the NW 1/4 of Sec. 17, Twp 49, Rng 2E in the District of Lands Subject to Sale at Palmyra, Missouri, containing 170 acres.


This Indenture made this the thirtieth day of September in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and fifty two [sic], between William TAYLOR and Parmelia his wife of the County of Lincoln, and State of Missouri of the first part, and Richard C. DORSEY of the State and County aforesaid of the Second part Witnesseth:  that the said part of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of Seven hundred dollars to us in hand paid by the party of the second part the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, and do hereby give, grant bargain sell convey transfer and make over unto the said Richard C. DORSEY his heirs and assigns forever, the following described tract or parcel of land, it being the N. West quarter of the N. East quarter -- the N. East quarter of the N. West quarter and the West half of the N. West quarter of Section Seventeen in Township forty nine of Range two east in the District of Lands Subject to Sale at Palmyra Missouri containing One hundred and seventy acres.  To have and To Hold the aforegranted premises unto the Said Richard C. DORSEY, his heirs and assigns forever and the Said William TAYLOR and Parmelia his wife do for their heirs, executors and administrators, covenant to warrant and defend the aforegranted premises unto the said Richard C. DORSEY, his heirs and assigns forever, against the lawful claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever.  In testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands and affixed our Seals, the day and year first above written.

County of Lincoln } SS  Be it remembered that William TAYLOR and Permelia TAYLOR wife of Said William TAYLOR both of whom are peresonally known to the undersigned a Justice of the peace to be the same persons whose names are subscribed to the within deed, this day appeared before me in said county of Lincoln and the Said William TAYLOR then and there acknowledged that he executed the Said deed for the uses and purposes therein specified and the Said Permelia TAYLOR having been by me made acquainted with the content of said deed and on examination apart from her Said husband acknowledged that she executed the Said deed and relinquishes her dower in the Real Estate therein mentioned, freely and without compulsion or undue influence of her Said husband.  In testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this Second day of October one thousand eight hundred and fifty-nine.
