Report of Accident involving Miss Hazel Wilson (date unknown)
No. 252 - Uncited clippings from the "Neva Murphy Hubbard Collection" of Beth Rengers Talken, 1998.

Troy friends of Miss Hazel WILSON will be glad to know that she sustained no serious injuries in the accident near Leslie, Ark., on Monday of last week. She and Miss Ruby DUNCAN, who were visiting the family of Mr. FOLEY, in company with young Harry FOLEY had gone to the top of the mountain on a small motor car which ran on the log railroad of a stave factory. On their return trip the car left the track at a curve on a tall trestle, ran on the ties to the end of it, struck a large rock and turned over, falling on young FOLEY. His companions were thrown clear of the car. When Miss WILSON regained consciousness she heard Mr. FOLEY calling for help and he died while she was endeavoring to aid him to extricate himself. She then found Miss DUNCAN unconscious on a heap of rocks, and thinking she also was dead, Miss WILSON arranged her clothing, crossed her hands on her breast and ran to town, four miles away, for help, crossing several high trestles on the way. When the relief party reached the scene they found Miss DUNCAN wandering around in a dazed condition. It was almost miraculous that neither young lady was seriously injured, but the experience was a severe mental shock to both. Mr. and Mrs. WILSON hurried to the scene when the news was wired them, and took their daughter to St. Louis on the Wednesday following.
