Wedding Announcement of Wm. Obersmith and Caroline Lewis, E. Summers and Mary Dunham (date unknown)
No. 213 - Uncited clippings from the "Neva Murphy Hubbard Collection" of Beth Rengers Talken, 1998.

Wm. OBERSMITH and Miss Caroline LEWIS of Bellflower and E. SUMMERS of Prices Branch and Miss Mary DUNHAM of Bellflower were married last Wednesday and as the old saying is, when you get married, then your troubles begin. In order to evade their many friends at home, they engaged an auto to bring them to this point where they expected to board the train. When they got near Truxton, the auto caused a team to run away, and considerable excitement followed, which caused sufficient delay to miss the train a few minutes. They then decided to go on to Jonesburg and take the Wabash, but when they got just out of town, a break of the auto, forced them to abandon it, and they employed a farmer to take them to Jonesburg in a vehicle. There they boarded a train for Chicago. Submission to the treatment of the home people would have been very pleasant compared to such experience.
