A Double Wedding. Saturday afternoon at 4:30, Mr. Robert E. WEITKAMP, son of Mr. and
Mrs. T. L. WEITKAMP, and Miss Anna Lou MILLER, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles MILLER,
with Mr. Earl F. JONES, son of Mr. and Mrs. John L. JONES, and Miss Myrtle BORGELT,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John BORGELT, all of Moscow Mills, came to the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Lindley LARUE in Troy and were happily married.
Anyone could tell that they wanted to be married, by just looking at them for they all
seemed sweet and happy. Then too, they had been visiting, oft times, in the pretty little
home of Lindley LARUE and his delightful wife and they had just sorter caught the spirit
of happy married life which seems to pervade the little home of Lindley and his wife.
Really they are a sort of living admonition to all unmarried folk to, "Go thou and do
likewise."
Mrs. LARUE played the wedding march and she did it well in spite of the fact that she was
all "fussed up" over having such a pretty double wedding in her home.
The young folks to be married were just so happy that they weren't a bit excited, as they
marched slowly before the minister where they all joined right hands, and with one
ceremony were married. We are sure that it would be very difficult to get four better
looking young folks to be married at one time than were these two couples Saturday
afternoon.
Immediately after the ceremoney the bridal party drove to the home of Mr. and Mrs. John
BORGELT at Moscow where they all enjoyed the wedding dinner.
After New Year's Day, these young folks will be at home to all their friends and we will
all go to see them. Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. WEITKAMP went to St. Louis Sunday afternoon
where they will make their home, and Mr. and Mrs. Earl F. JONES went to old home place of
the groom's father.
Mr. and Mrs. John L. JONES have moved to Oklahoma and have left their farm in charge of
their son and his bride.
Truly, it is a wonderful New Year's season for these young people and we are sure that we
express the sentiment and good-will of all their friends and loved ones when we wish them
many happy returns of their wedding anniversary.

Note regarding clippings from the "Neva Murphy Hubbard Collection": Neva Murphy Hubbard (1886-1971) lived all of her life in Lincoln County, MO. She collected a large file of clippings of Lincoln County residents. The majority of the clippings were without citation. Beth Rengers Talken, beneficiary of the collection, has transcribed them for inclusion in our Lincoln County Heritage Records.
