Obituary for John Watson Ward (b. 1836)
No. 141 - Uncited clippings from the "Neva Murphy Hubbard Collection" of Beth Rengers Talken, 1998.

John Watson WARD died at his home in Clark township last Sunday morning of a complication of diseases, and his remains were interred at the MILLER graveyard Monday afternoon by the Troy Masonic lodge, assisted by members of the Moscow Mills, Chain of Rocks and other neighboring lodges.

He was a son of John and Rebekah WARD, his mother being a sister of the late Walton PERKINS. He was one of a family of eleven children, ten of whom grew to manhood and womanhood, but of whom there are now only three livingDr. Jas. A. WARD, of St. Louis; Wm. R. WARD, of Clark township, and Franklin WARD, of Richland Center, Wis.

He was born Aug. 3, 1836, not more than two miles from the place where he died. Nov. 20, 1873, he was married to Mary Mildred NOLIN, of Pike county, who survives him.

John WARD was a man of generous impulses, a good friend and an obliging neighbor. He has many friends throughout the county who will be pained to learn of his death. We extend our sympathy to his bereaved relatives.
