Obituary for Boone Martin (d1912)
No. 084 - Uncited clippings from the "Neva Murphy Hubbard Collection" of Beth Rengers Talken, 1998.

Those from a distance who attended the funeral of Boone MARTIN were: Have POWELSON, Jim and Willl [sic] MARTIN of Ethlyn, Mrs. RUBY of St. Louis, Lem CASKET and daughter of Elsberry, Alex OWEN and wife of Hawk Point.

Boone MARTIN, a former resident of Lincoln county died in St. Louis May 31, 1912, at the age of about 72 years. He leaves several children and many friends to mourn his loss. A good man is gone a good neighbor also. His remains were brought up from St. Louis Saturday night and taken to Dever CLARK's home. The funeral took place Sunday, June 2, and the remains interred in the CLARK cemetery beside his wife, who had preceded him to the grave seventeen years. Boone MARTIN was raised to manhood in Moscow and was a son of the late Henry MARTIN, who used to own and run the Moscow mills in days gone by. We sympathize with the family.

Note regarding clippings from the "Neva Murphy Hubbard Collection":  Neva Murphy Hubbard (1886-1971) lived all of her life in Lincoln County, MO.  She collected a large file of clippings of Lincoln County residents. The majority of the clippings were without citation. Beth Rengers Talken, beneficiary of the collection, has transcribed them for inclusion in our Lincoln County Heritage Records.
