Obituary for Lizzie Lou Luckett (1895-1918)
No. 080 - Uncited clippings from the "Neva Murphy Hubbard Collection" of Beth Rengers Talken, 1998.

Lizzie Lou LUCKETT, was born July 19, 1895, at Moscow Mills, Mo., and died at her home in St. Louis on Dec. 5th, 1918, at 2 o'clock a.m. She confessed her faith in Christ at the age of 16 years and united with the Christian church at Moscow Mills.

Lizzie Lou attended high school in Troy, Mo; she also graduated in music in the year of 1913 under the direction of Miss Birdie WULF of Troy. She was married to Claud LESTER Aug. 8th, 1917.

When the summons came to Sister Lizzie Lou she told her mother that she was ready to go but that she had hoped to live because she had planned many things for the future. But if God was ready for her she was willing to go.  She asked that her father and other loved ones meet her on the other shore where sorrow never comes and she said "Mamma, I know you will be there."

Lizzie Lou was sick only about four days; her death was caused by pneumonia. Funeral services were held at the home of her father, J.W. LUCKETT, at Moscow Mills Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock and interment was in the Troy city cemetery. May God comfort the sad hearts of those who mourn for this sweet young woman.
