Obituary for Albert W. Elliott
No. 048 - Uncited clippings from the "Neva Murphy Hubbard Collection" of Beth Rengers Talken, 1998.

Albert W. ELLIOTT died Feb. 25, 1906, at his home near Whiteside, where he had lived the past four years, aged 50 years, 10 months and 3 days. He was born in Park county, Ind., and came with his father, when a small boy, to Missouri. On October 31, 1881, he was married to Virginia JAMISON. To this union were born ten children, six boys and four girls all of whom, with his wife, survive him.

Funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev. G.M.C. OKES, after which his remains were tenderly laid to rest in the Mill Creek cemetery, to await the resurrection.

Albert, as he was familarly called, could count his friends by the score. He was a kind, obliging neighbor and his loved his home and family, for whom he provided bountifully. His heart-broken companion and grief stricken children have our deepest sympathy. The grief of the beloved wife and dear children, especially the younger ones, was sad to see as they came to look for the last time on the dear face for the last time on earth. May the dear Heavenly father comfort every one of them and enable them to look to Him, realizing that this separation is for only a short time; and may they all so live that a blessed reunion will await them in the mansions on high.  --L.

Note regarding clippings from the "Neva Murphy Hubbard Collection":  Neva Murphy Hubbard (1886-1971) lived all of her life in Lincoln County, MO.  She collected a large file of clippings of Lincoln County residents. The majority of the clippings were without citation. Beth Rengers Talken, beneficiary of the collection, has transcribed them for inclusion in our Lincoln County Heritage Records.
